A Certificate of Completion as a Medical Insurance Coding Specialist will be awarded upon successful completion of all required courses.
This program can be completed in three quarters. The course covers an introduction to the concepts and methods of medical claim processing. Use of CPT code book, ICD-9CM code book and the completion of the form CMS-1500. Overview of various payers including Medicare, Medicaid, DSHS, Premera, Regence, and HMO’s. Students will be prepared to apply for work in medical offices, insurance companies, hospitals, and other health care facilities.
