P E 101 Aerobic Exercise 1 Credits
Designed to improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance and flexibility and control body weight. A variety of exercises including aerobic dance, step aerobics, and aerobic kickboxing, aerobic walking, and the use of dumbbells will be incorporated into daily classes. Intermediate East Coast Swing dance and basic Lindy Hop, and eight count swing style. You don't need a partner sign up for this class but you must register as either a "lead" or a "follow". Hatha Yoga is an ancient system of physical postures, breathing exercises, and mental awareness that can lead the practioner to a deep sense of well being. For all students who have had some instruction in yoga. Students at all levels will continue to explore movement patterning as well as further develop muscular strength and flexibility. We will continue to bring awareness to the breath and the anatomy of respiration while focusing the mind with our intentions. Prerequisite: Previous instruction in Yoga.

Hatha Yoga postures moved continuously with the breath results in a vigorous workout demanding increased strength, flexibility and stamina. Great cardiovascular workout as well as increased balance and ability to control the breath and focus the mind. Previous experience with yoga helpful, not required. Not recommended for students with active injury.
