South Puget Sound Community College would like to invite you to experience our beautiful campus and facilities for your next banquet, meeting, workshop, or training seminar. The Event Services office is devoted to ensuring a successful and memorable experience for you and your participants.
South Puget Sound Community College offers a variety of spaces to accommodate groups of two to five hundred. The college can handle business meetings, staff training seminars, fundraising banquets, conferences, athletic events, theatrical and musical performances and much more.
The college can also provide audio-visual equipment and support to enhance your event’s experience.
All of your catering needs can be provided by the college’s Culinary, Baking, and Pastry Arts program. Their full-service catering department is able to accommodate large groups to intimate gatherings, simple to extravagant.

About Event Services
The Event Services office at South Puget Sound Community College was established in 2007 to assist the local community in its utilization of college facilities and to help promote South Puget Sound Community College.

SUB Venue Details
The Student Union Building plays host to many meetings and events. The SUB houses two conference rooms as well as a large banquet space. The SUB is an excellent choice for banquets, auctions, and conferences.
- Commons: The SUB Commons area can be transformed for almost any event and can accommodate up to 350 people for banquets and gala fundraisers. The commons has a built in stage and house sound system.
- Large Conference Room: The large conference room can hold up to 44 people. This room has conference tables and executive chairs with built in LCD projector.
- Small Conference Room: The small conference room can hold up to 20 people with conference tables and executive chairs.

Lecture Hall Venue Details
The lecture hall has five different rooms accommodating between 35 and 186 people. Each room has built in multi-media capabilities. Adjacent parking is easily accessible.
- Large Lecture Hall: The large lecture hall accommodates 186 people with fixed, tiered, theatre style seating. The room has a Smart Podium for all your audio-visual needs with a built in sound system.
- Small Lecture Halls: The small lecture halls accommodate 86 people with fixed, tiered, theatre style seating. These rooms also have smart podiums with built in sound systems.
- Classrooms: The lecture hall also contains two classrooms accommodating 35 people each. These rooms have flexible seating arrangements with tables and chairs as well as built in multi-media capabilities.

Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts
Venue Details
This facility serves as the college’s signature building for the arts. The facility houses the college’s 500 seat Main Stage Theatre which can accommodate large lecture to musical and theatrical performances. In addition, the Center for the Arts is also home to the Black Box Theatre and Art Gallery. Gymnasium & Athletic Fields
The gymnasium and athletic field is the perfect spot for your recreational or church league sports activities or the next company picnic.
- Gymnasium: The gym has collegiate lined floors for basketball and volleyball. A set of bleachers can be pulled out for tournament activities. There is a divider curtain to separate games occurring simultaneously. The gym can also be utilized for large events and trade shows.
- Fastpitch Field: TThe field is collegiate regulation size and has dugouts along with spectator bleachers.
- Soccer Field: The field can accommodate various outdoor activities and would be an ideal location for your next company picnic. Adjacent parking is easily accessible.
Gymnasium and Athletic Fields Rental Rates:
- Gymnasium Practice: $25/hour
- Gymnasium Game/Tournament: $75/hour
- Gymnasium Event Use: $600/day plus additional labor costs
- Gymnasium Event Use: $600/day plus additional labor costs
- Sports Field Practice: $15/hour
- Sports Fields Game/Tournament: $35/game
- Sports Fields Event Use: $250/day plus additional labor costs
- Locker Rooms: $25/hour/gender
General Classroom Venue Details
The college has many classrooms that can be utilized for meetings, conferences, workshops, or training seminars.
Rooms vary in size and most have built in multi-media capabilities to serve your needs. For the rooms that don’t have built in equipment, we can certainly arrange to have equipment brought in to the room.
Computer labs are also available for your corporate training needs.

Hawks Prairie Center Venue Details
The Hawks Prairie Campus in Lacey, WA offers conference rooms and computer labs for all your meeting and corporate training needs. Staff can assist you in providing a successful training session while supporting your event.

Service List
South Puget Sound Community College can provide various services for your event. Please contact the Event Services office to inquire about additional services available. Your event will be setup to your specifications by college staff before your arrival.
Media and Audio Visual Equipment: The college can meet all of your multi-media and audio-visual equipment needs. We can provide LCD projectors, computers, DVD/VCR, TVs, PA System, Microphones, Overhead Projectors, etc. In addition, we have trained and experienced staff that can be available during your event for technical support and assistance. Rental fees and labor charges may apply. Please inform the Event Services staff if you will require any multi-media support for your event.
Catering Services: The college’s Culinary, Baking, and Pastry Arts program provides full-service catering for on and off-site events. They reserve first right of refusal to cater any event on the South Puget Sound Community College campus. They can provide simple coffee and cookie service and boxed lunches to plated table-side service for hundreds. The Catering Coordinator, along with Event Services staff, will work with you to match your menu to your event and budget. Contact Event Services for a current Catering Menu.
On-Campus Security and Parking: Campus parking is available for event participants with advance notice through the Event Services office. This must be coordinated before the event takes place. Our professional and courteous Security department is available twenty four hours a day for assistance. If your event requires additional security, you may be required to pay an additional fee.
Campus Directional Signage: Our in-house student graphics and design center can produce signage for your event. Event Services staff can provide campus directional signage through A-Boards to point your event participants in the proper direction while they are on campus. There is a small fee per sign to cover the costs of printing and lamination.

- Who can rent facilities at SPSCC?
- Any organization or individual can utilize college facilities through a Facility Rental Agreement.
- Is insurance required?
- A certificate of insurance listing South Puget Sound Community College as an additional insured is required to rent college facilities. Further information is detailed in the Facility Rental Agreement.
- What does it cost to rent facilities?
- Rental rates vary by each facility. Please contact Event Services to discuss specific rate details.
- As the event organizer, do we have to setup tables/chairs, etc. and clean up?
- Your rooms will be setup to your specification by college staff prior to your arrival. We do ask that you take with you any items brought in for your event. College staff will clean the room as necessary after your event. Extra cleaning due to excessive refuse may be billed as necessary.
- When can I receive confirmation that my request has been booked?
- As an educational institution, priority scheduling is given to classes and other college sponsored events. Event Services staff will let you know when to expect a confirmation at the time you make your request.
- Can we bring in our own caterer?
- The college’s Culinary, Baking, and Pastry Arts program provides full-service catering. They have first right of refusal to cater any event on the South Puget Sound Community College campus.
- How do I rent facilities at SPSCC?
- A quick call to Event Services at 360-595-5333 will get you started. A staff member will work with you to coordinate and schedule your event. Event Services staff may request to meet with you to show you the facility and answer any questions you may have.
Pre-Event Planning
Before you call the Event Services office, it would be helpful to have on hand the following information:

- What type of event are you planning (conference, meeting, receptions, auction, training seminar, musical performance)?
- What are the date (s) that you have in mind?
- Which venue would you like for your event?
- What time will the event take place and how much time for your setup and take-down is needed?
- What type of setup do you need in the room (theatre style, reception, classroom, etc.)
- How many people will be attending and what is the composition of the group (adults, elderly, teenagers, children, students)?
- Are special parking arrangements needed?
- What type of catering do you want provided (buffet or plated dinners, light refreshments)?
- What type of audio-visual equipment will be necessary (projector, computer, microphone, podium)?
- Will you need assistance setting up any technology or someone to be in charge of the sound system (AV tech)?
